Wilda Eileen (Willis) Albaugh

Wilda Eileen Albaugh, 90, of North Beach, MD passed away on March 9, 2019 in Prince Frederick, MD. Wilda was born on May 28, 1928 in Canton, NC to the late Lee Roy and Fannie Burr Rogers Willis. She moved to Maryland and began a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She graduated in 1948, with one of the first classes to receive nursing degrees in Maryland. She held an active nursing license for over 50 years and began her career at Springfield Hospital in Sykesville, MD. Wilda began working in Calvert County in 1965, first at the old Calvert Hospital, then at both county nursing homes. She also ran a private nursing facility. Wilda is survived by her sons, Alton "Pete" (Arlene) Grimes of Glen Burnie, and Ray (Doris) Albaugh of Owings, MD; daughters, Lennie "Rosie" Atwell of Mayberry, MD; Sarah Lee of New Era, MI; Brenda (Jim) Isner of Westminster, MD; Wilda Lou Anne (John) Compher of Owings, MD and Kay Eileen Colie of North Beach, MD; sister, Gloria (Raymond) Shifflett of Eldersburg, MD; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and many neighbors and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three husbands, Alton Dewitt, Sr.; Leonard S. Hipsley and Ray Albaugh, Sr.
