Stafford Henry Cross, Jr.

Stafford Henry Cross, Jr, who was affectionately known by loved ones and friends, as “Tippy," peacefully departed on Monday April 7, 2024. Stafford is survived by his sister Arline Wanda Cross and brothers Charles William Cross and Tyrone Michael Cross.

Although he didn’t favor any sports teams in particular, he enjoyed watching football and basketball on television. He served honorably in the US Army as a Military Police Officer (MP). and continued his career in corrections after leaving the military. Tippy was a corrections officer in the1980’s at the notorious federal prison in Lorton, Virginia. Tippy continued working in security related roles until retiring early due to becoming disabled.

Tippy enjoyed helping others and would go out of his way to assist anyone in need. He had an infectious smile and sense of enthusiasm, and always had a positive outlook regardless of any challenges he faced.
