Russell Alexander Brown

Russell Alexander Brown, 66, of Chesapeake Beach, MD died in Clinton, MD on January 17, 2012. He was born in Chesapeake Beach, MD on July 5, 1945 to David and Hortense Dixon Brown. He had worked in masonry in the construction business and enjoyed going fishing, crabbing and dancing.

He is survived by his mother, Hortense Brown of Suitland, MD;  son, Russell Brown, Jr. and wife Shernell of Annapolis, MD; daughters, Monica Brown of Greenbelt, MD, ShaVaughn Washington of Landover Hills, MD and Zarita Brown of New Carrollton, MD; brothers, William Brown and wife Maxine of Davenport, FL and Donnell Brown of Suitland, MD; sisters, Freda Reid of Huntingtown, MD, Delores Jones of Sunderland, MD, Gladys Brown of Suitland, Catherine Blacknall of Landover, MD and Myrtle Johnson of Suitland; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. His father, David Brown predeceased him.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, January 23, 2012 from 9 am to 11 am at Wards UMC, 2265 Wards Chapel Road, Owings, MD. Funeral services will be held at the same location at 11 am. Interment will follow at St. Edmonds United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chesapeake Beach. Rev. Darrell Best will officiate.
