Roy William "Bo" Thompson, 86, of Brandywine, MD, passed away in Upper Marlboro on May 17, 2019. Roy was born on December 25, 1932 in Charlotte Hall, MD to the late John W. and Katherine Hill Thompson. He had lived most of his life in southern Maryland, but had also lived in Colonial Beach, VA and in Clinton, MD. Following graduation from La Plata High School, he worked as a tobacco farmer, as a manager for Dydee Diaper Service and was the co-owner of Earl's Truck Stop. Roy"s hobbies included bowling, playing lawn darts, fishing and playing cards with his family. Roy is survived by his daughters, Robin Campbell and husband, Michael of Dunkirk, MD and Sue Binder and her husband, George of Upper Marlboro, MD; one brother, Francis Thompson and one sister, Edna Berry; three grandchildren, Nikki, Katie, and Dakota and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and John. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Edna Doreen Thompson; granddaughter, Rachael Campbell; two brothers and two sisters. Rev. Robert Hahn will officiate Roy's services and the following will serve as pallbearers: Michael Campbell, George Binder, Jeff Langston, Buster Vroom, John Glover and Jeff Langston, Jr. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122 or online at hospicechesapeake.org.
