Ralph William Palmer, Sr., 83, of California, Maryland, passed away on July 25, 2024 in Callaway, Maryland. Ralph was born August 6, 1940, in Washington, DC to the late Nicholas and Margaret Palmer. On April 28, 1962, he married Margaret “Margie” Lorraine Milburn. A 1959 graduate of Bladensburg High School, he worked at the Pantry Pride, Shopper’s Warehouse, and retired in 2005. He enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by one son, Ralph Palmer, Jr. (Pam) of Huntingtown, MD; three daughters, Karen Lawrence of California, MD, Lisa Pumphrey (Gene) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and Amy Palmer (Stefphon) of Glen Burnie, MD; seven grandchildren, Kevin Pumphrey of Elkridge, MD, Michael Pumphrey (Brandi) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Kaitlyn Pumphrey (Lucas) of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Kristin Galemore (Adam) of Owings, MD, J.R. Palmer (Jessica) of Prince Frederick, MD, Brandon Lawrence of Broomes Island, MD, Hayley Whitall (Eric) of St. Leonard, MD; and six great-grandchildren, Travis Pumphrey; Jillian, Corinne, and Evelyn Galemore; Jaycee Lawrence; and Alaina Palmer. Ralph is preceded in death by his wife, Margie, brother, Richard, and sister Lena Turner.
