Mary Ellen Trainum

Mary Ellen Trainum, 77, of Owings, MD died in her home surrounded by family on January 26, 2014. She was born in Tazewell County, VA on June 22, 1936 to the late William and Rose Lambert Bailey. She had lived in Owings for the past 40 years.  Mary had owned a cleaning service and enjoyed making ceramics and playing slot machines and bingo.

She is survived by her son Mark Trainum and his wife, Danielle, of Owings; grandchildren, Kimberly Martin, Meagan Gorman and Melinda Rogers and great-grandchildren, Nathan Miller, Shane Martin, Gabriella O’Neil, C.J. Hardesty and Khloe Young. Her husband Oscar (whom she wed in 1966), son, Vernon Evans, and infant daughter, Julie Carol Trainum predeceased her.

Services were held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Raymond-Wood Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Nevin officiated. Interment followed at Southern Memorial Gardens. Mary's pallbearers were Donald and Robert Byers, Brian Gillette, David Hord, Thomas Hutchins and Jay Johnston.
