Kathleen (McDonald) Garey

Kathleen Garey, 87, of Lothian, MD, formerly of Bronx, New York, passed away in Annapolis, MD on January 16, 2020. Kathleen was born on February 22, 1932 in New York, New York to the late John W. and Sabina Ward McDonald. She began her career as a registered nurse in Jersey City, New Jersey and then worked in Greenville, Mississippi. Kathleen obtained her private pilot's license. She moved to Maryland over 50 years ago and became a member of Andrews Air Force Base Aero Club, which she also managed for many years. In addition to flying Cessna airplanes, Kathleen also became an FAA examiner. She is survived by three sons, Michael (Elizabeth) Garey, Scott (Margie) Garey and Todd Garey; three daughters, Tamera Garey, Pamela Hodges and Traicy Garey and 15 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel Garey. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD 20778
