Joseph Michael Hanson

Joseph Michael Hanson, 33, of Lusby, MD sadly left us on May 30, 2024, unexpectedly.  He was born on March 2, 1991, in Baltimore, MD to Jerry Jenks, Jr. and Marie Hanson.  Joseph AKA (JoeJoe and Joe) loved the outdoors. He loved to be on the water, fishing, and animals, especially dogs and cats, 4-wheelers and dirt bikes. As a kid, he loved to take things apart and try to fix them, always shadowing his dad and Papaw Jenks. Trying to learn, he watched closely.  Even as an adult, he continued that, always wanting to work on something. He loved to help his family or anyone else, for that matter. If you asked, he was there to help!  He loved landscaping and actually anything pertaining to the outdoors. He did work a short time in the restaurant business, at Roy Rogers, but he always preferred being outside.

Joe leaves behind his father, Jerry Jenks, Jr. of Paynesville, WV; mother, Marie Hanson and husband Jeff Weaver of Centerville, TN; stepmother, Jennifer Underwood of Concord, NC; grandfather, Jerry Jenks, Sr. of Jolo, WV;  siblings, Destiny Jenks of Concord, NC; Alexis (Katie) Jenks of Monroe NC); Alexis (Angel) Tibbs and husband Jacob of Centerville, TN; Ricky Dorrell and wife Brittany of Lexington Park, MD and Dalton Frost of TN. He also leaves behind numerous family members including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe was preceded in death by his grandmother, Vonnie Jenks; grandmother, Betty Hanson; and grandfather, William Hanson, Sr. He will be missed by so many.  We will always cherish the memories we had with Joseph.  We love you JoeJoe, rest in peace! Pallbearers are as follows: William Jenks, Jason Eggers, Ricky Dorrell, Rick Dorrell, Sr., Lou Michaud and John Freeman. Rev. Bill Miller, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
