Born in Washington, D.C., Joanne later made her home in South Carolina, where she was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She lived a full and meaningful life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep devotion to those she cared about most.
Joanne built a proud career as a bus driver, serving communities across three states — Prince George’s County, Maryland, as well as in Florida and Tennessee. She was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and the warm spirit she brought to everyone she met along the way. Outside of her career, Joanne enjoyed staying active and social. She loved participating in her book club, spending time at the gym, and connecting with others. She was generous and outgoing by nature, and she was always there for her children and family whenever they needed her. She especially loved all of her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them.
Joanne is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Charles Curtin; her two daughters, Terry and Kelly; and her son, Brian. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory. Joanne’s life was a testament to dedication, love, and resilience. She will be remembered with great affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
