James Roberts Obituary

James Lynn Roberts,79, of Lothian, MD passed away on August 27, 2022 in Pasadena, MD. James was born on June 5, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late George and Blanche Reeves Roberts. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years as a physical therapy technician. James began his career at Walker Air Force Base in New Mexico and ended his service at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California. He also served during the Vietnam War and was awarded multiple awards and medals acknowledging his performance in the line of duty. In addition to his military career, James worked for Upper Marlboro Ford (formerly Ron Bortnick Ford).

At the time of his passing, James was single and he did not have children; however, he is survived by those he considered family-fellow members of American Legion Post 227 in Brandywine, MD and his coworkers at Bortnick Ford. James is also survived by his beloved cats, Charlotte, Boogie, Mindi, Charlie, Little Girl, Sweetie, Maxine, Slimmie, Ruthie and Toby, all of whom have been rehomed, per James’s wishes.

James always carried one particular coin with him that stated the following: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
