James Michael "Mike" Clarke, 61, of California, MD passed away on December 12, 2019. Mike was born in Leonardtown, MD on April 4, 1958 to the late George Willard, Jr. and Catherine Combs Clarke. He had been employed as a mechanic with AECOM and had worked on Naval support equipment at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Solomons Annex for the past 15 years. Mike's skills as a mechanic earned him the nickname, "King of the Spotting Dolly." Mike was an animal lover. His buddies shared that Mike was outspoken and one "never had to guess how he felt about something." He was also described a a man who would do anything for his friends. He was well known for his love of anything automotive, going fishing and enjoying crabs and oysters, not to mention beer and moonshine. Mike is survived by his wife of 21 years, Linda Dorr; brothers, George Clarke, III, Joseph Clarke and Nicholas (Jennifer Morgan) Clarke, all of California, MD; sisters, Edith Quade of Avenue, MD, Christine (Lee) Hutchinson of Salisbury, NC, Susan Clarke of Great Mills, MD and Catherine (Ronnie Carter) Clements of Valley Lee, MD. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Mumu and Wolfie. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by three brothers, David, John and Louis Clarke.
