Horst Frank Krenkel

Horst Frank Krenkel, 87, of Dunkirk, MD passed away in Prince Frederick, MD on August 19, 2024. Horst was born in Berlin, Germany on December 1, 1936 to the late Emil and Gertrude Knope Krenkel. He immigrated to the United States at age 15, completed his education, and became a elevator mechanic. He worked for Otis Elevator, now United Technology, and was a member of IUEC, Local 10. Horst loved working on classic cars and was especially proud of his '57 Chevy. His other hobbies included watching NASCAR and Redskins football. Above all, Horst was devoted to his family and it was them with whom he enjoyed spending his time. 

Hosrt is survived by his wife of 60 years, Christine; sons, Richard Krenkel and Michael (Mary) Krenkel; two grandchildren, Michael (Hannah) Krenkel, Jr. and Matthew Krenkel; best friend and brother-in-law, Steve Pavone and nephew, Craig Pavone. In addition to his parents, Horst was preceded in death by his brother Hans Krenkel.
