Hope Annette Williams, 72, of Lusby, MD passed away in her home on July 23, 2023. Hope was born in Washington, DC on March 2, 1951 to the late Richard W. and Eunice Griffin Snyder. Hope married Bryan Williams and the couple enjoyed over 50 years of marriage before his passing in 2022.
Hope was an activist for mental health services in Calvert County. She had previously served as the Director for On Our Own of Calvert, a non-profit, peer-support organization designed to provide a variety of options for persons desiring mental health services, homeless services or addiction support. Hope frequented the center and her family described her as “always helping someone, which she loved doing.”
Hope is survived by her sons, Bryan David Williams, III of Lusby and Richard Williams and his wife Jennifer, also of Lusby; sisters, Shannon Lamphere of Mechanicsville, MD and Brenda Reuben and her husband, Mike of Tallassee, FL; three grandchildren, Brayden Richards, Makalya Hazel and Deven Wightman. In addition to her husband and parents, Hope was predeceased by her brother, Freddie Snyder and her daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Wightman.
