Herman Kinley Brown, 71, of Dunkirk, MD, passed away in Washington, DC on September 23, 2022. Herman was born at home in The Willows of Chesapeake Beach, MD on December 3, 1950 to the late Thomas Edward and Hilda Elizabeth Chew Brown.
Herman lived his entire life in Calvert County. He had been employed as a laborer in the construction industry. His family described him as being very active and fun-loving. He enjoyed keeping a beautiful lawn, “fixing things.” dancing and singing-especially to oldies music, playing with his dogs, going fishing, watching old westerns and spending time with family and friends. Herman was also known to eagerly engage in political debates and in his favorite pastime-spoiling his great niece.
Herman is survived by his wife of 33 years, Catherine “Pixie” Brown; his brother, Lenwood (Vanessa) Brown of St. Leonard, MD; sisters, Maxine Brown of St. Leonard and Linda Brown of Sunderland, MD; sisters-in-law, Oda (Tommy) Grantham of Dunkirk, Penny (Timmy) Lough of Chesapeake Beach, and Carol (Mark) Cress of North Beach, MD, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Herman was predeceased by seven brothers, Wilson, Edward, Merton, Robert, Donald, Joseph and Richard, and three sisters, Evelyn Botchway, Diane Brown and Yvette Griffin.
