Hazel Hall

Hazel Marie Hall, age 80, of Lothian, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 surrounded with love by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.  

Hazel was born on January 25, 1931 in Washington, D.C.  She was one of six children born to the late Samuel S., Sr. and Birdie E. Weimer.  She was a lifelong resident of Lothian, MD.  Hazel will forever be remembered by her devoted family;  husband of 48 years, James C. Hall of Lothian, MD; two daughters, Jeanie M. Hall of Crofton and Chantel M. Stubbs of Crofton, treasured grandchildren Gabrielle, Emma and Scottie Stubbs; and  son-in-law Christopher M. Stubbs.  She is survived by four of her six siblings;  Samuel S. Weimer, Jr. of Chestertown, MD; Frank E. Weimer of Merritt Island, FL; Virginia Mae Miller of Ocean City, MD, and Charles D. Weimer of Churchton, MD.
Hazel was preceded in death by a sister, Helen E. Campbell of Merritt Island, FL; sister-in-law, Marge Weimer of Merritt Island, FL; sister-in-law Charlotte Mae Weimer of Chestertown, MD; brother-in-law Richard Whisman of Largo, MD; and niece Beverly Weimer of Churchton, MD.
Hazel touched the lives of many people with her smile and kindness.  She continued to work until the onset of her illness and enjoyed greeting her customers at the Walmart in Bowie, MD.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.  She was an avid animal lover and helped numerous homeless animals find loving forever homes.  She enjoyed shopping with her daughters at antique and craft shows.  
Visitation will be held for family and friends on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Raymond-Wood Funeral Home, 10684 Southern Maryland Boulevard Dunkirk, MD 20754, (410) 257-7450.  Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Southern Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 10155 Ward Road Dunkirk, MD  20754, (301) 855-3993.  Burial will immediately follow the service.
