George Edward Newman, Jr.

George Edward Newman, Jr., 58, of Dunkirk, MD died in Prince Frederick, MD on January 26, 2014. George was born in Washington, DC on September 2, 1955 to the late George, Sr. and Ruth Fields Newman. He had moved to Dunkirk in 2008. George had been employed as a truck driver. His hobbies included fishing, working on cars and exploring flea markets. 

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice Newman; son, George III and his wife Casey, who live in Florida; daughter, Ruth King and her husband, Michael, of Port Ritchey, FL; brothers, William Newman and his wife Paula of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Robert Newman and his wife Lisa of Prince Frederick, MD; sister Sandra Robinson and her husband Robert of Owings, MD and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Dunkirk Baptist Church, 11275 Southern Maryland Blvd. (Rt. 4 N), Dunkirk, MD 20754. The family will receive visitors from 5:30 pm until 6:00 pm. The service will begin at 6:00 pm, All are invited to a time of food and fellowship following the service.
