George Thomas Jolliffe, Jr., 83, of Port St. John, Cocoa, Florida, died in Merritt Island, FL on June 15, 2013. He was born in Morgantown, W.V. in1930 to the late George, Sr. and Georgiette Foisset Jolliffe. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He returned to Akron, Ohio in 1956 with a new wife, Agnes (Jean) Jolliffe. He was employed at the Goodyear Tire and rubber company in Akron until he was laid off and decided to pursue new employment in Washington D.C. as a police officer. He eventually transferred to the White House Secret Service where he served under Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. He retired from The Secret Service and worked in several positions before relocating to Florida where he worked in the Brevard Correctional Institution before finally retiring from the work force. After his wife Agnes died in 2008, he married Jacqueline Davis Jolliffe, who died in 2011.
He is survived by sons Gerald, Robert and wife Cindy, George and wife Jeannie; daughter Barbara Vargas and husband Luis and son Kevin and his partner, Lori Tullis; 11grandchildren, Amy, Jason, Kaileigh, Jessica, Angie, Jenny, Rusty, Brian, Sean, Zachary and Sheena as well as two great- grandchildren, TJ and Denis.
Funeral services were held on June 21, 2013 at Raymond-Wood Funeral Home. Monsignor Maurice O’ Connell officiated. Interment followed at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
