Ellis Malcolm Hensley

Ellis Malcolm Hensley, 81, of Port Republic, MD passed away in Prince Frederick, MD on November 17, 2021. Ellis was born in Kentucky on April 21, 1940 to the late William Tanzel and Mary Hazel Hall Hensley.

Elis served in the United States Army and the Army Reserves for several years and then in the National Guard for an additional 18 years. He married Bessie Maggard and the couple made Calvert County their home 56 years ago. Ellis had been employed as a plumber and his hobbies included bowling and playing horseshoes.

Ellis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bessie Hensley; sons, Robert Hensley and Paul Hensley, both of Port Republic; daughters, Hazel (Daniel) Alvey of Prince Frederick, MD and Wanda (Chuck) Elliott of Mississippi; sisters, Madeline (Ron) Larson and Phyllis Kenn, both of of West Virginia and Brenda Oliver of Virginia; sisters-in-law, Maryann Hensley and Laurie Hensley, also of West Virginia; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ellis was predeceased by one son, Ronald Gene Hensley.
