Chiquita Maria Byrd

Chiquita Maria Byrd, 25, of Hughesville, MD passed away on January 31, 2017 in Washington, DC. Chiquita was born in Prince Frederick, MD on December 23, 1991 to Walter Lee Byrd and Dawn Marie Nolan. She had lived in Calvert and Charles Counties her entire life. Her loved ones describe her as being “high spirited” and she enjoyed playing basketball, singing and dancing. Chiquita is survived by her father, Walter Lee Byrd of Anderson, SC; mother, Dawn Marie Nolan of La Plata, MD; son, Melvon’dre Thomas of Lexington Park; daughters, Harmony Thomas of Lexington Park, McKayle Byrd of Charlotte Hall, MD and Vahara Jones of Lusby, MD; brothers, Anthony and Jordan Rice of La Plata, MD; Walter Byrd, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Brandon Byrd of Pennsylvania; sisters, Justine Rice of La Plata, Christiana and Victoria Byrd, of Atlanta, GA, Brianna Byrd of Bowie, MD and Alana Byrd of Pennsylvania; paternal grandfather, RV Byrd; maternal grandparents, Rose Marie Brady and Stephen Nolan, Sr.and his wife, Donna; aunts, Mary Zell-Resenois, Janice Parker, Chris Johnson, Linda Mackall, Bonnie Graham, Geraldine Brooks, Latoya Barber, Heidi Williams and Brenda, Glenda, Vicki and Tammy Byrd; uncles, Stephen Nolan, Jr., Dontay Resenois, James Barber and Kenneth Mackall, many special cousins, and the many friends who were like sisters to her. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruby Murray and her daughters, Heaven Greenwell and Zahara Byrd. Donations in Chiquita’s memory may be made to her family.
