Catherine Ann (Adams) Pruitt

Catherine Ann “Cathy” Pruitt,72, of Capitol Heights, MD passed away on December 6, 2024 in Lanham, MD. Cathy was born in Cheverly, MD on October 18, 1952 to the late Charles and Margaret Beckham Adams. Cathy married Karl Pruitt in January of 1972 and the couple welcomed two sons, Dustin and Denny.

Cathy was employed as a custodian at Surrattsville High School for 12 years prior to retiring. She was described by her family as “a caring, loving person.” Her passions included The Washington Redskins and all animals, especially feral cats. Cathy also enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and riding her motorcycle.

Cathy is survived by her sons, Dustin (Christa) Pruitt of New York and Denny Pruitt of Capitol Heights. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 36 years, Karl, and her brother, Charles Adams, Jr.
