Anita Carrie Camp, 66, passed away peacefully in her home on July 20, 2024. She was born to Raymond and Virginia (DiToto) McDonald, Sr., on September 5, 1957, in Washington, D.C. Anita fell in love with her high school sweetheart and married her husband, Thomas George Camp, Jr. Together, they had two daughters: Susan and Amber.
Anita embraced being a mom and loved all music growing up, especially Motown (Al Green was one of her favorites.) She relished listening and rocking to the music. She loved her grandchildren, Kensi and Jayce, and always had special surprises and presents for them when she visited.
Anita is survived by her husband, Thomas; daughters, Susan (Christopher) Rimmel and Amber (Clarence) West; grandchildren, Kensi and Jayce Rimmel; sisters, Lucille (Brian) Czechanski, Teresa (David) Jenkins, Anna McDonald, Judy (Dino) Messineo, Sharon Thompson, Caroline McDonald, and Lisa McDonald; brothers, Ricky (Lisa) and Emil McDonald; sons-in law, Michael Peters, Darren Williams, and Billy Colbert; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Anita was predeceased by her sisters, Loretta Peters, Virgie McDonald, Raydale Bruce, Elaine Colbert, and Cindy Williams; brothers, Raymond McDonald, Wayne McDonald, James McDonald, and Baby McDonald; nieces, Akilah Monae Austin and Shenandoah Kearney and nephew, Raymond McDonald, III.
The family would like to especially thank care providers Dorothy McIIwain and Debra Johnson for all of the love and support they gave Anita over the last several years.
